Getting Started with Statistics on a Casio Graphics Calculator 1

This course consists of a single module with a nominal duration of 1 hour

This module will familiarise users with the core functionality associated with analysing univariate data using the Statistics app of a Casio graphics calculator.

The materials presented will feature the fx-CG20/50 AU. They are also relevant to the 9860 series of calculators. This material will presented in video format and can also be accessed via the “How do I … on a Casio fx-CG50 AU” publication.

The processes focused upon include

• Entering and editing data

• Generating a 1-variable analysis of list data

• Drawing a graph of list data

• Drawing multiple graphs of list data

This course addresses AITSL Australian Professional Standards for Teachers: 2.6 Information and Communication Technology, 3.4 Select and use resources and 6.2 Engage in professional learning and improve practice.

Once participants are familiar with the above processes, they will be asked to upload their response to a short mathematical task, to demonstrate this familiarity. Once done, participants will be issued with a certificate of completion referenced to the above AISTL standards.
